Day 18 Porto...at the Opera

Thank you to all of my sweet friends that checked in on me. 

Really, I'm ok. I only shared what happened because if you know me, you know I like to keep it real. There are rumours out there that I'm some kind of alien, or weirdo because I kind of like to push myself to extremes... perhaps just a little more than what is considered normal. Although yes, that is true, I have my loser moments and I get blisters and I get sore. It happens. If you know me then you also know I can't sit still for long. I walked 11kms today along the waters edge.

 The ground was flat, the sun was shining and the wind, once I turned north, was as relentless as I anticipated. 

On my way out, I went to the San Franciscan Catholic Church and Museum and it was not large but it was probably the most ornate church I have ever seen.

 Believe it or not I've seen alot of churches hahaha.

Side note: as I write this, with all my windows and balcony doors open, someone is singing Opera in the streets and it's quite impressive.

After the church, I followed the sea wall to the lighthouse and had fun watching the waves crash against it. 

I endured sand whipping my face and getting in my ears all for sake of capturing a perfect shot. 

I tried all afternoon but finally grew weary of the sun and wind and went home to eat and drink. 

My neighbourhood opera singer is now singing Ave Maria... my favourite song. She is fabulous. I want to go see her up close. I'll try to get a video clip so you can hear her too.

It's time to pack and get organized. I would have liked to lighten my load for tomorrow but instead I will be heavier... I found gluten free bread finally, gluten free oatmeal and snack bars. On the plus side I will not be leaving here hungry.
